Call out to New Zealand's youth and teenage coaches! We Want YOU!
2016 Youth World Championships Opening Ceremony organising team needs 30 sailing coaches to help a) organise a part of the Opening Ceremony and b) host 65 National Teams on the night.
As a Host, on Thursday 16 December, you’ll experience the Welcome Parade, Powhiri, Formal ceremony and Finale!
Your responsibilities will include the safety and fun of your assigned National Teams. You’ll help them understand Aotearoa New Zealand protocol, Kiwi Hospitality and enjoy the night with them.
You need to be a team player, with the initiative to help us run this exciting Opening Ceremony with precision and impact. You will report to Finn Drummond, MBSC.
You need to be available for about six meetings (at Murrays Bay Sailing Club) before the event which is being hosted by Torbay Sailing Club (there will be adults driving over if you live City-side). We are looking for a group of coaches with a range of talent. As an indication, the Organising Team adults are mostly sailors, members of 8+ clubs, we’re all Kiwis and come from 12+ countries and range in profession from a Doctor to a Fisheries Officer.
If you’re Different, Weird, Fun….If you’ve been down the mine?… If you’re down to earth? We want YOU!
Please RSVP to Finn Drummond (finndrummond.nzl@gmail.com) if you can help out.
Furthermore, if you are available to help man RIBs and on-shore stations, then please get in touch with Kim Admore (kim@yachtingnz.org.nz). Please note that general spectating for the event is discouraged, therefore, the best way to view the racing will be onboard a mark boat, or committee boat.
2016 Youth World Championships commences on the 16th Dec and runs through to the 21st December.
