The 420 class association seeks expressions of interest from upper North Island (greater Auckland region) clubs wishing to host the 2019 420 class nationals.
The national championships regatta will be used as New Zealand selection event trials for New Zealand team selection to:
- 2019 420 Open World Championships Villamoura, Portugal
- 2019 Youth World Championships Gdynia, Poland.
The 2018 March committee will consider bids from clubs who can provide:
- Resourcing necessary for 420 Class international courses, to Yachting New Zealand and World Sailing standards
- NRO and judge
- A four-day event of dates, either March 7–10 or March 14–17, 2019
- An entry fee contribution of $50 per entry to the NZ 420 class association
- Possibility for a dedicated exclusive access compound area for event competitors
Consideration may include the ability to provision for overnight security and clubhouse access for protests and changing.
