The Bucklands Beach Yacht Club is looking to appoint a Sailing Academy Administrator to be responsible for our Sailing Academy Programs.
Based in Auckland in the Eastern suburbs the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club Sailing Academy runs Learn to Sail programs for children Levels 1-3 and Adult Learn to Sail Levels 1-3, along with Schools Team Racing and Schools Coaching programs. We have available Optimist, Sunburst, 420 yachts and J24 keelboats to support our coaching programs.
This is a part time role of approximately 800 hours per year, with no work during the winter months of June/July; on average a 20 hour week during the season.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish the Club’s seasonal Learn to Sailng programs, liaising with head coaches, Yachting New Zealand, schools, preparing rosters and hiring coaches where necessary.
- Promote and market the courses on offer, implement risk management and safety plans and documentation.
- Review course costings and arrange for course fees to be charged out.
- Report to Management monthly on the activities including course participation numbers.
- Liase with course participants, teachers and parents providing course information and registration fees.
- Oversee the maintenance of all Learn to Sail rescue boats and yachts.
- Prepare and submit applications for funding for Have A Go and Learn to Sail Programs.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of sailing and previous instructor experience.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- Although not essential YNZ sail coach qualifications.
- Planning, rostering and marketing experience.
- Understanding of safety requirements.
