Breakfast with Volvo Ocean Race skipper Dee Caffari

Issue date

Dee Caffari has a few stories to tell.

Not only has she sailed around the world five times but she is also the first woman to have sailed single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions and the only woman to have sailed non-stop around the world a total of three times.

Now she's leading the Turn the Tide on Plastic team in the current edition of the Volvo Ocean Race as they race towards Auckland for the next stopover.

Caffari will be the guest speaker at a special fundraising breakfast hosted by Lady Pippa Blake and the Sir Peter Blake Trust on Thursday, March 1 at the Maritime Museum.

Turn the Tide on Plastic is made up mostly by a young team of sailors but they also have an important message. The team aim to raise awareness of plastic pollution in our oceans and inspire people to take action in their day-to-day lives.

Limited tickets are available for the breakfast. For more, see here, or email info@sirpeterblaketrust.org to book tickets.
