Wakatere Boating Club has registered for Bart’s Bash on Sunday 21st September. This is a global event created to support the Andrew Simpson Foundation and to celebrate the life of Andrew (aka Bart) Simpson who was tragically killed during the last Americas Cup campaign. It’s also a genuine Guinness World Record attempt for the largest sailing event in the world and Wakatere is open to any class with a centreboard.
With our Americas Cup history, it would be great if Auckland could rally round and support this cause and due to the time differences we will be one of the very first venues in the world to kick off the largest race on the water.
