Barbara Kendall recognised at 52nd Halberg Awards

Barbara Kendall was recognised at last night’s 52nd Halberg Awards with a Sport New Zealand Leadership Award and was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame.

Barbara Kendall retired from international wind-surfing in 2010 after a career that spanned close to a quarter century and included multiple Olympic and World Championship medals.

 The list of wind-surfing highlights (below) show how Barbara engaged the New Zealand public through her unprecedented results, going on to earn a place in our hearts as a bubbly and effervescent character with incredible drive and talent.
