Fiji has just survived another cyclone, very late in the year and outside of the normal tropical cyclone season. What will this mean when you are heading to Fiji this year? Metservice meteorologist Georgina Griffiths will provide a latest update on what the likely scenarios will be in the South West Pacific as the area moves out of El Nino in May/June. Along with refreshing your understanding of general circulations, forecasting skill of operational models and a lot more. For those who have been to her talks before, Georgina provides a great balance between technical detail relevant to the sailor (she owns and sails herself) and easy to digest information. |
