2016 NZ Open Keelboat National Championships - Plan your entry now

It’s time to begin planning your entry for the 2016 NZ Open Keelboat National Championships.

This year the winner wins free entry into the Pacific Keel Boat Challenge – 18 to 20th March – already we have 5 * overseas entries. Past winners are a who’s who of New Zealand Yachting: Rod Davis, Sir Russell Coutts, Roger Wood, Ray Davies, Cameron Appleton, Greg Salthouse, Grant Turnbull, Andrew Wills, Phil Douglas, Laurie Jury, Roger Pagani, Dean Barker, Stefan Goldwater, William Tiller, Adam Minoprio, Phil Robertson and Josh Junior.

The 2016 NZ Open Keelboat championships will be held on the 20th & 21st February 2016 and will be run by the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron in the MRX Fleet.

Key points:

Entry 

  • Entries will be accepted in the order in which complete entries are received – see Notice of Race for details.
  • Entry to the regatta is restricted to 10 entries.
  • Sailing crews shall have a maximum weight of 525kg including the skipper.
  • The entry fee is $1,100.

Schedule

  • Registration: Friday 19th February 0900 to 1800hrs
  • Briefing: Friday 19th February 18.30hrs RNZYS
  • Dates of Racing: Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February, first warning signal 10.25am.
  • Number of Races: 10 races with up to 6 back to back races each day

Courses

  • The courses shall be windward leewards
  • Northern Leading is the intended course area
