Some extensive gardening work has been happening at the Port Chalmers Yacht Club recently. The big equipment was brought in to clear some garden area beside the clubrooms to make way for a new secure hardstand compound for Trailer Yachts.
A handful of hard working club members recently felled a number of gum trees in this area which were in turn raffled off as a trailer load of split firewood for next winter.
The recently elected new Commodore for PCYC, Richard Hawkins, believes that the new compound will be a great asset for the Club enabling Trailer Yachts to be left close to the launching ramp with masts up.
