On Friday 25 May, the NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team was celebrated by sponsors and family at Yachting New Zealand.
NZL Yachting Trustee John Lusk gave a motivational speech to the sailors about the proud yachting history in New Zealand, and that this trust is continually proud to support young sailors to attend international championships, in order to help maintain NZ as one of the top yachting nations in the world.
In preparation for the big event in July 2012, over the past two weekends all the sailors were in Auckland for their final training clinics together before heading overseas for the individual events such as World Laser Radial Youth Worlds, Queensland Youth Week, SL16 Open Worlds, Nieuwport Race Week (Belgium) and more training at the regatta venue in Dublin, Ireland.
